The festivities will be held at Hugh McRae Park on Saturday, April 26th, 2008 from 12:00PM to 6:00PM. Earth Day is a time to meet people from other organizations, get your message out, and recruit members, volunteers, and interested people. It is a fun day to be outside, talk to new friends, and learn about all the great things that are happening in our community. The theme in 2008 is to bring awareness to the problem of deforestation, with a specific focus on canopy cover in New Hanover County.
The North Carolina Jazz Festival is a three-day traditional jazz festival, which features world-renowned jazz musicians of the highest caliber. The performances are held in the Wilmington Hilton Riverside ballroom during the first weekend in February. Festivities will begin on Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 7:30 p.m. and include some of our excellent local jazz musicians. NCJF is a non-profit organization, formed to preserve, promote and present America’s truly original art form – JAZZ!

The Blues Society of the Lower Cape Fear was formed in 1987 by a small group of blues supporters in Wilmington, N.C. Incorporated as a non-profit organization under state law, the BSLCF was declared a 501(c)(3) charitable organization by the IRS in 1988. Since then, the Society has seen rapid growth, established a firm foundation for blues music in the Cape Fear region and developed into a vibrant, all-inclusive organization that welcomes listeners, musicians and blues enthusiasts from all walks of life. Thanks to its dynamic membership base, positive perspective and proactive management, the BSLCF is proud to be one of the most successful and widely recognized, non-profit music societies in the Carolinas.
